About Us

If you haven’t listened to the podcast, you’re probably wondering what it is. If you have listened to the podcast, you’re probably wondering why we would do this to you. We’ll answer each in turn.

What is this Thing?

This is a podcast about how a casserole-loving Baptist got to be the way he is, how a stodgy Presbyterian got to be the way he is, and how it is that two people so different can be friends. We crack a lot of jokes, delve unnecessarily into each other’s psyche, and most importantly, we make everyone—including ourselves—completely uncomfortable sometimes.

Most specifically, we try to talk about how and why we’re different without talking about our theology (although we’re not always successful at that). If you’re looking for a podcast to help you understand Baptist and Presbyterian theological distinctions, you’ll want to look elsewhere. If you want to hear a Baptist and a Presbyterian have fun getting to know each other, well this is probably your podcast.

We also like to make fun of silly trends in evangelicalism. To do that, we write silly ads and skits. We’ve developed quite a cast of characters, and one of our imaginary character even has his own Instagram.

Why do it?

There are enough theology podcasts. We thought it would be fun to have some meta-discussions about what makes a Presbyterian a Presbyterian and what makes a Baptist a Baptist—besides their their theology.
