Cherry on Top
Episode 81 on Saturday, Mar 07, 2020
In this episode, the audio is what Jim would call wiggidywack because Jim hit the wrong button on his audio mixer—which admittedly is more complicated than it needs to be. Anyway, we kick things off with a contractually obligated ad for Bill Hasinger’s Instagram written by Bill himself. We’d suggest skipping it, but we’re contractually negotiated not to—but we’re not contractually negotiated to not say that.
Anyway, our main topic is the inverse of the law of the excluded middle. It’s the law of the exclusive middle. We discuss why the middle of the road position is often the most appealing, why it has a certain rhetorical persuasiveness, and David references Merlin Mann’s “turns out” concept to illustrate part of why this might be. It’s like fun and educational and stuff.
